Finishing Editing
The final blog on the commercial was published today. The commercial has come to an end today. My group, on the other hand, is already done, but it is still the second day of editing. I wanted to discuss more about the editing process, as well as the commercial's overall approach. Despite the fact that Jade did practically all of the editing, Ben, Siena, and I all had some suggestions. Jade suggested adding a voiceover, and we all agreed that Ben should be the one to do it. Siena was the one who wrote the voiceover script, which added a little of levity to the advertisement. The purpose of the voiceover was to clarify our message. I suggested that the Jansport logo be included at the end of the commercial.Ben came up with the tagline "Discover Freedom." I was in charge of the logo editing at the end of the commercial. The Jansport emblem appeared in white and faded slowly in the last scene, followed by the tagline. In the commercial, Jade added music to the background. The music was turned off when the narration was inserted, so the focus could be on the voiceover. There is a change in lighting in our commercial. During the editing process, Jade came up with this idea. There is a dreary overtone throughout the early section of the commercial. There is a bright overtone throughout the commercial's second half. When I received the Jansport bag, this contrast was used to draw attention to it. The experience of working on this commercial has been great in terms of learning about the filmmaking process. Throughout the process, I picked up a few pointers that will come in handy for the next assignment.
