My group and I worked very hard on this project, and were very excited to be a part of it! I am so excited to be a part of AICE Media Studies A level eventually, and I hope our film is enjoyable!

Continuing to Edit

As the editor and I wrapped up putting the videos in order and cutting them to perfection, we still had a lot of editing to do. Next, something very necessary was adding the transitions. In multiple scenes, a simple cut would not suffice. There needed to be many fading transitions, blurred transitions, and transitions fading to black, etc. In the scene where the main character and her mom are sitting on the couch, it cuts to a news caster.  I decided to make that transition a jump cut. This shows how urgent/abrupt the news message was. The editor and I ran into a few problems during editing. We had disagreements on which transitions we should use. We both wanted different feelings to the film. I believed most of the transitions should be normal cuts. This in my opinion, made it seem more real. Using raw cuts gave an eerie feeling to the film. My partner wanted it to have more smooth and creative transitions. Such as fade transitions. After talking, we decided to incorporate both

Changes made from Film Review

After reviewing the film over and over again, I figured out some changes that needed to be made. First, I compared the storyboard to the video. I watched it over twice. I compared each scene and came to the conclusion that some of the clips were out of order. There was two scenes that needed to be fixed. One scene where the two friends were talking on the swings, was in the wrong place. It was supposed to be before the main character getting ready for her date, not after. Another scene that was out of order was the scene where the killer was peering over a tree. It was supposed to be before the main character was looking around, not after. After putting the videos in the correct order, I noticed even more mistakes. The audio was missing in one scene in the forest. The audio was important because it added the sound of leaves crunching. This is an example of diegetic sound. Another mistake was multiple sound effects were missing. One sound effect was when the scene faded to black and th

Starting to Edit

Now that filming was out of the way, it had to be edited. My group partner Connor decided to edit the video. He used his laptop and offered to bring it to school so I could help him edit. I really enjoy editing, so I had to help him edit. From the start w e ran into a few problems trying to edit. It was really hard trying to edit during school. The wifi was pretty slow and that made it difficult to open and run the editing program. We restarted the computer multiple times but nothing seemed to work. Then, I had the idea to use the hotspot on my phone for the computer. This worked and I was able to start editing. I texted my partner the videos we took on my phone. They uploaded the footage to his computer. I then made every video go in the right order. This was tricky because I had to match it to the storyboard. Next was cutting the videos. There was many shots, and each one had to be cut in a certain way. It took a while, but we finished cutting every video nicely. All that was le

Film Review

In terms of my film review, I believe I have made good improvement. My partners and I worked really hard to come up with something that matched all of the criteria. Looking back on my film production, we went through multiple reshoots in attempt to make it more visually attractive. We attempted to concentrate on our plot and preparations for the film. My partners and I worked hard in the film to produce something special. We tried to stay away from cliché scenarios when plotting our script. To ensure that our filming was not choppy, we took various procedures in the preparation process. One of the most important aspects of the film's creation was this. The necessary steps, props, and preparation were ridiculous. I couldn't even begin to comprehend what it would be like to do a two-hour or longer film. I get the impression that we did not film up to our full potential. We chose not to capture several of the sequences while filming since we were running out of time and needed to
