My group and I worked very hard on this project, and were very excited to be a part of it! I am so excited to be a part of AICE Media Studies A level eventually, and I hope our film is enjoyable!

Movie Conventions Research: Bird Box

  Various camera angles, sounds, editing forms, and mis-en-scene were used in this film. For starters, numerous scenes were shot at a medium close-up viewpoint with dark lighting as the mis-en-scene. Dim lighting in the forest setting and  Ambient lighting are two examples of different types of illumination. To achieve a chilling effect, many props were added, including a blindfold and a rowboat down a strong river. Genre Decision: Drama

  There are many things that make a genre clear to what it is. For example, the genre Drama has usually these factors to it. Camera angles: Close up: Drama films often have close ups to show the expressions of the actors.  The close up makes it clear on how the actor is feeling through their expressions. It can make the scene more dramatic and express the intensity of the scene. Long shot: Long shots can set the scene for the viewer. They can show the background and give insight to what might happen in the scene, but they also keep some of the focus on the main character.  Over the shoulder: This type of camera angle can show the POV of the character which could be an object or another character. These types of shots add drama. Costumes:  Costumes depend on the setting and time period of the movie. Modern day movies set in common society have typical clothes we would see day to day. Continuing to film

 The next day's filming continued smoothly and fast. Due to our experience the previous day, the group and I were already aware of exactly what needed to be done. Violet picked up Dara, Mila, and I this time to take us to my house after school was out. My group and I went to Starbucks before Violet drove us to my place. This was done so that the group and I could fuel up before the shoot with some great drinks and snacks. Our group made a brief halt before continuing on our journey to my home. Everyone immediately got to work doing what they needed to accomplish after arriving. Dara and Mila set up the filming spots. Violet and I dressed in the costumes we had worn the day before. Same as the day before, I helped Violet with doing her makeup. Everything finished quite fast—at least more swiftly than the day before—and the filming soon got underway.
