1.    How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? Jansport backpacks are always on the cutting edge of style, movement, and thought. It's no surprise that their backpacks may be seen everywhere at school. They are true trend-setters. It's plain to see. We developed our advertisement to be indicative of current social issues on purpose. Bullying is depicted in the commercial, implying that bullying is still a problem in schools. 2.       How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? We directly engage with the audience by speaking directly to them. With our product, we will ask them questions and provide real-time straightforward responses. A translating of this commercial into a magazine, blog, or news ad, in my opinion, would be useful. You could express our point and reassure the reader of their decision in two paragraphs. 3.       How did your production skills devel

Commercial is Finished!

There were a lot of lessons we gained as a group for the commercial. Making the ad has given us the skills we'll need to work on future projects. The first thing we did as a group was research and planning, which enabled us to find inspiration and come up with a commercial concept. It was slightly different from the commercial in the storyboard. We all realized that we needed to spend more time on the storyboard and consider whether it was what we wanted the commercial to look like. It's ideal to make changes to the storyboard during the storyboarding process rather than during production. We were allowed to begin filming from here. The greatest filmmaking strategy is to be prepared but to just do it; starting to film was a little intimidating at first, but we all agreed to just do it. Filming went extremely well; we were efficient and completed the project in under one day. The commercial's editing was the next and last phase. Although Jade did practically all of the edit

Finishing Editing

The final blog on the commercial was published today. The commercial has come to an end today. My group, on the other hand, is already done, but it is still the second day of editing. I wanted to discuss more about the editing process, as well as the commercial's overall approach. Despite the fact that Jade did practically all of the editing, Ben, Siena, and I all had some suggestions. Jade suggested adding a voiceover, and we all agreed that Ben should be the one to do it. Siena  was the one who wrote the voiceover script, which added a little of levity to the advertisement. The purpose of the voiceover was to clarify our message. I suggested that the Jansport logo be included at the end of the commercial.Ben came up with the tagline "Discover Freedom." I  was in charge of the logo editing at the end of the commercial. The Jansport emblem appeared in white and faded slowly in the last scene, followed by the tagline. In the commercial, Jade added music to the background

Jade's Amazing Editing

It's time to edit now that we've finished filming. All of the clips were cut by Jade. She uploaded these after cropping them. She decided to make a movie with iMovie. She also added some music to the mix. We came to the conclusion that there was no need for discourse. We didn't think we'd be able to communicate our tale without it. I was able to assist Jade in some way. When it comes to the commercial's colors and saturation, I also learned a new iMovie skill. It appeared simple at first. However, as time passed, it became more difficult. I initially mistook it for a simple editing tool. It was difficult to keep up with Jade's wizardry in our commercial. I believe that in the future, if I need to edit something, I will use iMovie. In the future, we will need to add more components. So far, I'm liking it. It's in desperate need of a boost. However, there are occasions when keeping things simple is preferable. It'll be a critical decision that, in my o

Finishing Filming

Everything was shot in one day. We had to make sure everything was completed in one day because our commercial's storyline was a continuous plot. The weather, the clothes, and the timing all played a role. These are all critical factors that must be in sync. Especially considering the commercial lasted for a long time. It would be noticeable if only one thing changed. It also helped that the commercial was only 30 seconds long. We got the commercial done promptly. With the assistance of me. Our storyboard was produced by her. A mental image of what it should look like. This aided us in having a smooth sailing experience. The conversation was limited to a minimum. We made the decision to overlay music on top of it.

Filming Fun

Jade, Siena, Ben, and I did not plan on filming that first day. I finished the storyboard and took a picture of it on the second day of storyboarding. Siena made the blog and sent it to all of us to publish. After publishing the blog, we were ready to start filming early. Ben was the one who took it upon himself to film and direct. So he was not in the videos. Although, we planned for him to voice over in the commercial. We ended up just filming right outside our classroom in the hallway. While filming, we didn’t follow the storyboard completely. For specific shots, we were arguing how to film them. But we quickly came to a conclusion. For the first shot, I walked and my backpack fell to the floor with folders and notebooks falling out. The shot wasn’t looking that good, so we took another shot of me just dropping the backpack. The next shot was of Jade and Siena walking next to me and making fun of me with my broken backpacks. The camera followed them and at the end of the shot, I loo
