1.    How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?

Jansport backpacks are always on the cutting edge of style, movement, and thought. It's no surprise that their backpacks may be seen everywhere at school. They are true trend-setters. It's plain to see. We developed our advertisement to be indicative of current social issues on purpose. Bullying is depicted in the commercial, implying that bullying is still a problem in schools.

2.     How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

We directly engage with the audience by speaking directly to them. With our product, we will ask them questions and provide real-time straightforward responses. A translating of this commercial into a magazine, blog, or news ad, in my opinion, would be useful. You could express our point and reassure the reader of their decision in two paragraphs.

3.     How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

I drew the storyboard. I also help think of ideas for how we filmed the shots. I also helped Jade with the ending scene. I made the Jansport logo and made it fade into the end. I learned how to think of ideas for scenes. I also learned how to properly put them into a storyboard. I learned how to also help out my partners with their parts in the project as well.

4.     How did you integrate technologies into this project?

For this project, we used phones, computers, and circuits. We filmed, re-filmed, and collected all of the videos we intend to use in our commercial using a phone. Jade then imported the clips into iMovie. She did this on her computer. Putting together the commercial. I also used my phone to look up commercials to help draw the story board together. Phones were very essential to the research and filming process of our project.
