Commercial is Finished!

There were a lot of lessons we gained as a group for the commercial. Making the ad has given us the skills we'll need to work on future projects. The first thing we did as a group was research and planning, which enabled us to find inspiration and come up with a commercial concept. It was slightly different from the commercial in the storyboard. We all realized that we needed to spend more time on the storyboard and consider whether it was what we wanted the commercial to look like. It's ideal to make changes to the storyboard during the storyboarding process rather than during production. We were allowed to begin filming from here. The greatest filmmaking strategy is to be prepared but to just do it; starting to film was a little intimidating at first, but we all agreed to just do it. Filming went extremely well; we were efficient and completed the project in under one day. The commercial's editing was the next and last phase. Although Jade did practically all of the editing, it taught us all the importance of planning ahead of time. It is much faster and easier to edit if you have a clear notion of what you want to happen. Overall, the process of creating the commercial was a fantastic learning experience that will be invaluable in our future endeavors.
