Choosing my Partners
I'm Addison Walker, and today we chose our groups for the film project. I was so excited to have friends who are also taking media studies as a class! Most of my classes I don't have any friends to do projects with, so I really enjoy Media Studies. Since I know people in the class, I already knew who the general people in my group would be. Connor Murray, Mya Hauser and Katie Weiss are my friends in the class, and we decided to be a group together. It was easy to pick a group, because we all collectively wanted to work together. Half of my partners were not in the same period as I, but it's fine because we have a group chat to talk.
We all were pumped to do this project together, and all had plenty of ideas of what to do. We were debating on doing multiple genres and songs to use. We have to decide on a theme that we all collectively like. It also has to be easy to make a story out of. Katie and I both have a pretty broad taste in genres, so it would be pretty easy to find one. It will also be easier because we all have a similar idea of the type of film we want to do. We also were trying to decide where to film it, but we haven't come up with anything yet.
Working in a group is much easier than working alone, however I do prefer working alone as well. I used to enjoy making movies, films, and music videos when I was in middle school. It was a lot of fun to brainstorm and film the ideas. It was extremely enjoyable to tweak it later. Most of the time, when working on tasks like these, I become overly passionate and try too hard to finish the assignment. Because I'm a perfectionist, I usually end up doing everything myself. I've improved a lot since then, and I'm now a really good group partner. I'm truly looking forward to working on this project with my group!
